The Parable of the Two Sons

Jesus told this parable: A man had two sons. He asked the first son to go and work in the vineyard. He answered no, but afterwards changed his mind and went.

The man went to the other son and made the same request. He answered yes but didn't go. (Mat 21:2830). The first son did the will of the father (Mat 21:31a).

Jesus then said that tax collectors and prostitutes will go into the kingdom of God before the religious leaders in Israel in Jesus' time, see
Jesus Denouncement of the Jewish Religious Leaders. John the Baptist came to them in the way of righteousness. The religious leaders didn't believe him, but
tax collectors and prostitutes did. Even when the religious leaders saw it, they didn't change afterwards and believed in him.
(Mat 21:31b32).
